Announcement of winners of the 2017 (The 11th) Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers (Japan Award) and the Award Ceremony

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) has decided this year's winners of the Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers (Japan Award). The award ceremony will be held on November 2nd, 2017 at U Thant International Conference Hall, United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan.The ceremony is open to the public. Cameras are permitted.

1.Overview

This annual award was started in 2007, organized by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research Council (AFFRC), MAFF, Japan. Its purpose is to increase motivation among up to three young researchers contributing to research and development in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and related industries in developing regions. Up to three young researchers who show outstanding performance and research achievements that may lead to future innovation are commended with the award every year.

The winners will be invited to Japan and awarded a testimonial by the Chairman of the AFFRC during the commendation ceremony.
